Road Test Prep Session and Vehicle Use
For over 6+ years, Brave Driver Training is preparing student drivers for the road test in Halifax, Dartmouth and Sackville. Our road-test prep session is conducted with experienced driving instructors for an hour on the day of your road test. Your driving skills will be evaluated and thus our driving instructor will give you feedback on how to can pass your driving test. You will be given road test practice, by going through exact or identical road test routes from your driving test.

Please provide us with your road test receipt so we can book a driving test for you
We recommend that you provide us with your road test receipt (learn more here), so we can schedule your road test in Halifax, Dartmouth or Sackville. The reason, is to ensure that one of our driving instructors and a vehicle is available. Your road test can be booked at a time and place that conflicts from other student’s appointment or road test. In order to avoid this issue, we ask that you contact us early on to make arrangements for a driving school vehicle. Access Nova Scotia does not provide any vehicles for you to do your road test in. For this reason, you will need to show up to your road test with a vehicle and be prepared.

Do you have a road test booked in Halifax, Dartmouth or Sackville?
If you’ve already booked a road test a while back, consider booking a 1-on-1 driving lesson with our professional instructors. Our goal is ensure that you clear your practical driving test on the first try. Booking a road test costs 53$ to Access NS, and there is a wait period before you can schedule another road test. There is a minimum of 7 days rest period if you don’t clear the road test. In addition to this, you may have to wait additional days before there is another opening for a road test.

Even if you are already an excellent driver with good habits, the practical driving test is not easy to pass. Whether your test is in Halifax, Sackville or Dartmouth, your driving skills are tested quite closely for nearly 30 minutes. The road test prep session takes place on the day of your practical driving test
We recommend you to take a 1-on-1 private driving lesson with our certified driving instructors, to evaluate your driving early. You don’t want to find out that you are making many driving errors, that can potentially end your road test, on the very day of your drivers test. Our certified instructors can let you know how many driving lessons you may need, to become road test ready, so you can save money.

You certainly increase your chances of beating the Nova Scotia road test, by going through the motions of our road test practice. You see, when it comes to driving with correct skills, it’s all about muscle memory. It’s hard enough to drive well and follow the rules while an examiner is watching you, and examining your driving closely. Your driving skills need to be at a 110%, so you don’t have to remember things mentally on your driver’s test. Only through repetition, feedback and proper guidance, you become a real skilled defensive driver, not just an imitation act.

The process of the road test prep session on the road test day
One of our certified driving instructors will pick you up in the HRM, and we begin the driving session. The first hour will be dedicated to road-test practice, evaluation and preparation, in-vehicle with our instructor. After the practice drivers test, we go to Access Nova Scotia where an examiner will check our vehicle for safety, before going on the road-test. Rest assured our vehicles are regularly maintained and safety checked, so you can proceed to the practical drivers test.
The Nova Scotia road test is approximately 30 minutes in length:
After which, you will go to Access NS, and provide your road test passing documentation and you will be provided with a class 5 Nova Scotia driver’s license. At this point, you will be able to start driving in Halifax independently, without any supervision. In about 7 days, you will receive your Class 5 driver’s license in mail.
After the road test is complete, whether you pass or not, you will be given a ride home. We realize that most new drivers will have to either take a taxi or bus to get home, so we’ve got your back.
